SHOPPING AT COAL DROPS YARD: SHOP SMALL

Post in collaboration with Twiin

On probably the wettest day of the year I ventured to Coal Drops Yard last week. It’s actually one of my favourite shopping areas in London and it even looked as good in the rain. Not only does it have beautiful architecture, it has a nice chilled vibe with all my favourite shops in one place.

An amazing mix of independents shops, cafes and restaurants. I’m a huge supporter of small businesses, having come from a family who run their own. Although I know a lot of us will be shopping online this Christmas which is understandable but if you can, try and support the bricks and mortar shops too who have been hard hit by lockdown.

One such store is Twiin. Just a short walk from Kings Cross station, located inside the restored railway arches and warehouses of historic Coal Drops Yard.

Located on the top level, the store represents emerging sustainable & conscious labels & lifestyle products coming from LA.

You might have spotted me wearing this amazing top by The Line By K (pictured at the top of this post) but they also have other great brands such as, Boyish Jeans, Staud & Le Bon Shoppe.

The store is also a dream with exposed brick and neon signs. I felt totally safe walking around Coal Drops Yard, because unlike shopping centres it’s mostly outside but protected from the rain by a roof.
Like everywhere at the moment customers need to to wear face-coverings inside & there’s hand sanitiser at the door.

You’ll also be happy to hear you can try on items, and these will then be quarantined for 72 hours to ensure there is no possible chance of contamination.

Lots of great gift ideas, for example Hometown Collective’s Bare Collection, featuring female form shaped decorative candles (shown below).

I also have one of their amazing candles burning at home. Boy Smells - The De Nimes Candle.
Even my candles reflect my denim obsession. ha! This one is meant to evoke smells of the city of Nimes where denim workwear was first produced. Notes of violet, eucalyptus and juniper berry, perfect for the holiday season.

There are so many other great places in Coal Drops Yard from food to fashion.
Worth checking out Botanical boys, amazing bespoke terrarium which would make a lovely Christmas gift.

Or Beija London for some beautiful quality lingerie. They use 3 unique sizing categories (X, Y and Z) to create their collection that is beautifully practical, but still super pretty.

More of a foodie? Check out Longboys, for freshly handmade finger doughnuts! You’ll have worked up an appetite after all that shopping. ;)
