WHERE TO STAY IN MANCHESTER: THE PRINCIPAL HOTEL

manchester-principal-hotel.jpg

A few weeks back we headed to Manchester to visit our lovely friends Ben and Lucy. Every time I visit the city I’m immediately reminded of probably one of the best years of my life.It was 2008 and I headed off to Manchester on a placement year with Kerry, it was this year on one of many nights out in 5th Av I met Simon. (if you don’t know Manchester, let’s just say vodka red bulls were £2.50 and served in plastic cups) It wasn’t long until I packed up my bags and moved to Manchester for another year after uni. It always holds a sentimental place in my heart and I love going back to see what’s new in the city. This time I was fortunate to be following in the footsteps of @mat_buckets, who had instagrammed all the cool places the week prior. Top of my agenda was visiting The Principal hotel, where we ended up staying.

WHERE TO STAY IN MANCHESTER

This Principal hotel has the most incredible interior with the highest ceilings I’ve ever seen in a bedroom. The bed was super comfy and just what I needed after our long drive from London. (This was after a gin or two at The Refuge.) By coincidence I had made a note “must visit The Refuge bar” before realising “this is it” walking down from our room. WIN!

We had a few cocktails in the winter garden which is such a lovely room both day and night and definitely worth a visit even if you don’t stay at the hotel. You may have spotted this on my instagram. It’s the dreamy restaurant where breakfast was served. Although we didn’t get the opportunity our friends have also been for dinner and highly recommended it too.If your ever on the hunt for where to stay in Manchester. The principal is definitely one you won’t want to leave.
