Two weeks ago, we were very lucky to test out the Mini Clubman again. Deciding to go a little further a field (well, 1 hour 22mins) we ventured to Brighton. The big deciding factor – Artist Residence. A 23-bedroom townhouse hotel with some serious style, and with 3 amazing locations it’s a place i’ve always wanted to stay.
The perfect Mini adventure: Artist Residence
Packed and ready to go we headed down on Thursday night and stayed for two. Being a stones throw from London, Brighton is the perfect weekend away and we couldn’t have been luckier with the nice weather we had too.
Can I just move in?
Located in Regency Square our room had sea-views over the iconic West Pier. I absolutely adored our room, it was so lovely to spend the weekend relaxing, having a bath, reading my magazine and generally having a much needed chill out.
The hotel has a rustic-style decor, distressed-wood surfaces, exposed brickwork with lots of art on the walls. We had a cute Smeg fridge and an espresso machine. Add one armchair and I was set up for a day sitting in while enjoying my magazine with a coffee.
The room was a winner but you had me at the palm tree printed cushions.
Pancakes & cocktails
For me, breakfast consisted of pancakes and just look at that stack! Located in ‘The Set’ restaurant it was a busy hub of locals and guests. It’s even where we were greeted on arrival.
The evenings consisted of cocktails. Tucked beneath the hotel, behind a secret bookcase lies a secret little drinking den where delicious cocktails were concocted. Really intimate and cosy for the perfect nightcap.
Brighton might seem like a natural fit for the summer and we were very fortunate with our weather but at the Artistic Residence I could happily have stayed in all weekend relaxing and reading, only bothering to leave for the occasional seaside walk. It has all you need for a mini break. Highly recommend.
