WHERE TO STAY IN THE COTSWOLDS: THE RECTORY HOTEL

Two weeks ago I got invited along on a very lovely trip to The Rectory Hotel in the Cotswold with some of my favourite gals. We couldn’t have timed it any better with this incredible weather that has hit the UK (Bonus: There is an outdoor pool for those wishing to enjoy a cool-down dip)Before I begin, this trip was complimentary by the hotel but there were no requirements to do this blog post. I really enjoyed my time and thought the hotel, food and surroundings where definitely something I would recommend, and most definitely go back.

The Rectory Hotel

I actually got to stay in the cottage off the hotel, next to the pool. Perfect for families, a group of friends or just 6 girls gathering together to watch Love Island accompanied by the biggest plate of doughnuts. #heavenSurrounded by the most beautiful wild-flower, not only did it smell incredible but we were greeted by lots of butterflies. Across the lawn was the hotel and gardens, a minute walk brought us straight to the bar/dining rooms. Originally this was the rectory to All Saints’ Church and is Grade II listed building. Making it full of character, including sash windows, tall ceilings and some bedrooms with roll-top bathtubs. Obsessed with the colour combo. Green walls, orange sofas. Dark navy walls and pink chair. Dreamy.

Next up food. Those scones, boy the scones were good...and the doughnuts... and the pancakes. Yes. I may have overindulged on all the baked goods but I can’t resist. The food was great. In the morning we had breakfast in the Glasshouse, which was probably my favourite room with the light bouncing in. I opted for pancakes because if they're on the menu, I will have them. In the afternoon we had afternoon tea in the garden, definitely worth eating outside at some point if possible. For dinner it was back to the Glasshouse for lovely golden hour light coming in. We had a mixture to start, however, I hogged the burrata and I had the Ribeye for main. SO so good.

The Potting Shed

If you fancy dinning out some day we also ventured across the road to The Potting Shed. A quint country pub not even a 5 min walk from the hotel. We ordered a few bites, which were lovely and fresh. I could totally picture it being super cosy in the winter with open fire too.
