WHERE TO STAY IN PALMA: CAN BORDOY
Take me back to sunshine and The Can Bordoy hotel...With the sun breaking through the trees we sat in the secret garden sipping our spritz before checking in to the most beautiful rooms we've ever stayed. Heaven.
Can Bordoy
Hidden down a quiet street in the centre of Palma lies Can Bordoy Grand House & Garden. I had spotted this new arrival on the Smith website a few months prior and we booked it as a little post-wedding treat to unwind. It was just what the doctor ordered.
The decor feels modern but with an art deco twist. We had one of the premium suites, something we would never usually book but it was a special wedding treat. Our room was beautiful, with a hand-painted ceiling, free standing bath and thirties-style headboard which I wish I could own one day. The bed is HUGE and in the evening we came back after dinner it was encircled with a dark blue velvet curtain. The hotel has a roof terrace and plunge pool, spa and restaurant. So pretty perfect for a few days relaxing. We also got offered a late check out free of charge, which meant the use of the room until our flight later that evening. They're lucky they didn't have me move in permanently ha!
Dining at restaurant Botànic
Breakfast was served in the garden and was absolutely delicious. Plus one of the nicest lunches I’ve had in ages. Even if you don’t stay at the hotel I highly recommend checking out the restaurant Botànic for a bite to eat. I believe it's open to the public and has food served all day.Staying at Can Bordoy seemed a million miles away from what you would stereotype a holiday to Mallorca and the usual mummers of somewhere like Magaluf. I've been visiting the Island since I was a baby and don't get me wrong, spent 16-23 visiting the bars but to come back in recent years and see a completely different side to the island is like experiencing all over again.
